Blindfold Reading – Your Kid Boleh!!

蒙眼读书法您的小孩能!

 

 

 

        I first came in contact with blind fold reading when one night a shixiong brought his very young daughter to demonstrate her skill acquired after attending a course. I just could not believe what I saw. “Fantastic!” that’s all I could exclaimed in awe. She flipped the playing cards one by one at faster than normal speed and read out accurately each card flipped with the eyes blindfolded, achieving 100% accuracy with the whole pack of 52 cards. It was like as though she was not blindfolded. She also read out the numbers on some currency notes accurately by touching with her finger tip.

My Skeptic Nature

       But soon my skeptic nature took over me. Isn’t this skill classified as an extraordinary feat? And all this while I believe an extraordinary feat cannot be taught. It is inborn, God or Heaven given. Even if it can be taught, it is unlikely to be able to do so in such a short span of time, in a day or two. If I am wrong, then I feel that Education Ministry should include this in the common school curriculum. Why not, a beneficial skill like this should be made available to all our children, rich or poor, privileged or non-privileged at no additional cost to the parents.

To See Everything For Yourself

       One day after the Penang trip which I went up with Master Shifu and another two shixiongs to conduct a course on blind fold reading for our Penang centre, I was impulsive enough to approach Master Shifu for some enlightenment. I did not hide my skepticism. I asked him, “(1) Is the skill real? (2) Can it be taught in such a short time if this is an extraordinary feat?” I told him during the Penang class I was really a bit worried when at the end of the session they called up a few outstanding students to demonstrate in front of their parents. What if those students could not perform? I felt relieved after all those students were able to read out the cards 100% accurately. It showed that my worry was uncalled for. Master Shifu answered my questions with this remark, “Well, you were there (Penang) to see everything for yourself!" I regretted for bringing my doubts to Master Shifu. It was the last thing I wished to happen. But I tried to turn around the situation by telling him that in fact I was very interested in teaching and I wished to be able to get involved with the teaching and spreading of this skill to benefit more of our children. But before I threw my whole self into this project, I just wanted to be 100% sure that the whole thing was not a fake. I did not have enough wisdom and knowledge to do so and I believed Master Shifu, with his high level of cultivation and wisdom, would be able to enlighten me. I told him although I was the most skeptical at that time, I could be the most staunch believer in the skill once I was convinced. Can you imagine the disastrous damage done to the parents and the development and promotion of this skill if eventually it turned out to be a fake? “Real Gold Fears Not The Red Hot Furnace”. Real skill must be able to withstand all tests and the test of time.

       I was wrong that Master Shifu was mad with me. In fact knowing my enthusiasm in this skill, he took me into his core group of trainers and assigned me active roles in the conduction of subsequent courses. I thought part of his intention was to give me the opportunity to personally experience the truth of the skill.

Seek Evidences

       Actually my initial doubts were not unfounded. After my skepticism was raised, to satisfy myself I tried to seek evidences for fortifying my doubts. I examined closely a video clip made by Malaysian TV8 on blind fold reading. I found that the demonstrating students mostly read with their heads raised high up and the materials to be read placed far below the eye level. Were they peeping through the holes created by the protrusion of their noses? Of course in the show, they tried to disperse the possibility of able to see through by highlighting that the blind fold was 4 to 8 layers thick. They never looked at the possibility of seeing through the crevases between the nose and the surface of the face. I was not saying the students cheated. But the kids did not know what were expected of them. You blindfolded them and asked them to read. Well, when they found that they could see with their eyes through the holes near their noses, why not? By raising their heads and the cards to far below eye level, they could see even better, why not? Pity those more “honest” kids who tried to see through the blind folds (the older kids who understand what the whole purpose of the game i.e. should be using your mental power to sense the cards), their accuracy was often well below 100%. What about some kids who tried to smell the cards? Are they putting the cards close to their noses so that they could see better through the holes? And what about whenever I asked the kids to give an impromptu demonstration, they often refused, saying that they did not have their blindfolds with them. Though we suggested using handkerchief or simply closing their eyes, they still refused. Had the blindfold handed out to them by the organizers had some special power bestowed or what? Also when we found some students scoring 100% on some tests and pulled them aside to continue with the remaining tests, many of their performance in the subsequent tests were not so satisfactory.

Oh, No More Doubt It Is Real !

       My doubt in the skill eventually took an U-turn after I was intimately involved in a revision class in Pontian (in preparation ahead of a demonstration for the benefits of the parents of the Pontian group who did not sent their kids for the course held in Southern College in Johor Bahru ). I had the opportunity of doing the tests personally with two to three girls of around 13-14 years old. As these girls were more matured, I could communicate with them better and was able to extract valuable information from them. I told them they were to use their mental power or any of their senses other than sight. They understood well and so the so called “peeping” was out of question. Their accuracy was amazing, 100% whether it was colors, shapes or numbers. By then I was totally convinced that the kids really possessed such skills and the skills are real. I asked them how they were able to read out so accurately? They told me that they used the sensation of touch. Then I told them to try using “feeling”, that is just by holding the cards without touching all over the card, concentrate and read out. They also could read out with 100% accuracy. I told myself, “Oh, no more doubt it is real!!”

He Still Achieved 100%  

       Last weekend I went back to my hometown and my brother and his family also happened to go back. They have a boy around 8 years old. I suddenly felt that well I might “experiment” on him. I told him, “Lets play a game.” Initially, he just refused. After a while, I told him, “Uncle is going to give you power!” Suddenly he was interested. He said, “I have power. Ninja Turtle Power!” Grabbing the chance, I told him to sit down quietly and then I put my hand over his head for a minute or two and said, “Now you have power!” Then I proceeded to show him pages in our Blind Fold Reading manual and asked him what he saw in those pictures. Then I proceeded to teach him and made him do the relaxation exercise. After that I told him to rest while I looked for colored papers since I did not bring any with me. I managed to cut out 4 pieces of 4 different colors from a page in an annual report of a listed company showing a Malaysian map with the South China Sea. I cut out the blue color which was part of the South China Sea and the other colors from various parts of the map on the page. I also took out some playing cards which I brought back with me. We started to play the guessing game in a room. I did not want his parents to be around while we were playing. I then blindfolded him. We started with the colors. During the first two games, he could only get two colors out of four correct. As we continued he improved. In the last three games on color, he scored 100%. Then we went on to guess numbers on the playing cards. He achieved 100% on all the 8 cards shown to him. All that while he was using touching. Then we repeated the two games of colors and numbers. I was really surprised that after guessing two colored cards, he started using smelling. My ghosh! He could really smell the colors, 100% correct. I repeated a few times and he still achieved 100%. You can imagine how astonished I was. I asked him, “How come you can smell it was blue?” He said, he smelt water so it must be blue lah! How about black? Well I don’t like black so I can smell it! This all come to feeling, 6th sense! He started using smelling after that even when guessing the numbers on the playing cards, all accurately. Not only that, even the color of each playing card whether it was black or red card.

       I then quietly invited his parents into the room (of course I told them not to make a single noise when I played the game with their kid) to watch the performance of their kid. They were highly amazed and of course also very delighted that their kid possessed such skill. Later I told them their kid, (or all kids have) has the potential, I merely helped him to bring out his potential.

       More surprises followed sue. I suddenly recalled it was ever reported that in China, there were kids who can “hear out” words with their ears. So I decided to try it with my nephew. I suggested he hear out the colors and numbers by putting the cards close to his ear. Wow! He did it! I just could not believe it! Then I tried something further. I told him to put the card behind the back of his head and read it out. Simple matter! He did again, not once but many times with 100% accuracy. No trick! No way of peeping, the cards are all placed near his ears, or behind his head.

       After some time, he said he wanted to stop. Why? He replied, “My “power” is tired, he wants to go to sleep!” I told him OK! Anyway, the harvest I reaped by then of had far exceeded my expectation! He also told me that all those things he did were not by him but “his Power”. Dealing with kids, you just need to use a little psychology. He believed now he has power!

Master Shifu Enlightened Me

       I told Master Shifu of the story and asked, “I did not teach him anything. How come he could do all those things?” Master Shifu then enlightened me that the all kids possess the skills and though I did not teach my nephew anything, I had helped him to bring out his own hidden potential.  

       Now I firmly believe the skill is real! But now I have to face my retribution. When I told people of my story most of them expressed their skepticism just like me before! Well, I accept my retribution. But I hope one day they will all turn out to be staunch supporter just like me.

Three Bows

I told Master Shifu I owed him three bows for:
(1) Please forgive me for my initial doubt of the skill.
(2) Thank you very much for your guidance and the opportunity offered to me to participate in the courses so that I was able to clear all my doubts.
(3) Pray that Master Shifu will continue to guide and support me in teaching and spreading this skill to benefit more children.

       Dear Master Shifu, please accept my three bows from the bottom of my heart.

       Finally, to All Parents,

       If My Nephew Boleh, So Can Your Kids!!!!!

我第一次接触蒙眼读书法是在一个晚上,有一位师兄带了他年幼的女儿前来示范她刚学到的蒙眼读书技能课程。我当时无法相信眼前所看到的这一幕。“太神奇了”我惊叹道。小女孩在蒙上眼睛后,将一副五十二张的纸牌一张张快速的翻开,并同时能一百巴仙准确地读出纸牌上的号码,就像没被蒙上眼睛那样。她在用手指触摸钞票上的号码后,也能准确地读出该数字。

过后我升起疑心。这种技能不也是特异功能吗?一直以来,我以为特异功能是不可被传授的。它是天生的,是上天或上帝所赐给的。就算它可以被传授,也不可能在短短的一、两天内做到。如果我错了,那我觉得教育部应该将它纳入一般学校的教学课程里。为什么不呢?这么有用的技能肯定对我们的孩子很有帮助,无论是有钱有势与否,都不会对父母们增加任何成本。

一天,当我和师父及其他两位师兄,一起到我们的槟城会所,教导蒙眼读书法过后。我禁不住向师父寻求开悟。我质疑的问师父说,“这个技能是真的吗?如果它是一种特异功能,真的能在这么短的时间内被传授吗?”我告诉他在槟城授课时,在课程最后阶段,他们选了几位杰出的学员,要他们在父母面前示范,我当时感到有些担心。如果这些学员无法有所表现,那该怎么办?最终,这些学员都能一百巴仙准确地读出纸牌上的号码,我才松了一口气。这证明我的忧虑是多余的。师父是这么回答我的问题的,“你不是都在现场(槟城) 目睹一切了吗?”我后悔向师父提出这个疑问。我也感觉到他不高兴。希望这是最后一次发生。我尝试扭转当时的情况,并告诉他其实我在教学上很感兴趣,也希望能参与教导及传播这项技能,以惠及我们更多的孩子。不过,我想在全身投入这项计划前,完全确定它不是虚假的。我虽没有足够的智慧与知识,但我相信师父,以他那么高深的修养与智慧,肯定能使我开悟。我告诉他虽然当时我很怀疑,但是一旦我确实后,我将会非常坚信这项技能。如果它是虚假的,你能够想象父母们面对的挫败感,以及发展、发扬这项技能的惨痛损失吗?俗语说“真金不怕红如火”,真本领一定能够抵挡所有的考验及时间的考验。

我误以为师父生气我。其实,他知道我对这项技能的狂热,而把我纳入了他主要的训练员团队里,并委派我在日后授课的要职。我想他部分的目的是想给我一个机会,去亲身经历这项技能的真实性。

其实我当初的怀疑,不是没有理由的。在我升起疑心后,为了满足自己,我尝试去寻找证明来支持我的疑心。我仔细观察了由马来西亚八度空间电视所制作的蒙眼读书法节目剪辑。我发现在示范中的学生们,当他们在读取资料时,大多数都抬高他们的头,而有关资料则就放置在与眼睛平行的正下方。他们是否会从突起的鼻梁所出现的空隙中偷窥呢?当然,在表演中,他们尽量避免可透视的情况出现,而突显所采用的眼罩共有四至八层那么厚。他们却没有察觉到,可以通过鼻梁与面部间的空隙看见的可能性。我并不是说这些学生欺骗。但这些孩子不知大家对他们的期待是什么。当你将他们的眼睛给蒙上,并要他们把字读出来的当儿,而他们又发现到,可以从鼻梁与面部间的空隙看得见,为什么不可能呢?就这样抬高头,同时将纸牌放在与眼睛平行的下方,他们就比较能看到啦,有什么不能呢?至于那些较“诚实”的孩子就会尝试通过眼罩去观看(年长的孩子明白这项游戏的真正目的,即是用自己的智能去感觉纸牌上的号码),他们的准确度通常会低过一百巴仙。对于那些嗅纸牌的孩子呢,他们把纸牌靠近鼻子是为了能够从空隙中看得到吗?为什么每当我要求这些小孩即席示范时,他们总是推说没有眼罩而拒绝。虽然我们建议他可使用手帕或者就索性闭上眼睛,但他们还是拒绝。是否是主办单位所分发的眼罩有给予特别的法力或是什么呢?同样的,当我们发觉一些在测试中获得一百巴仙的学生,而过后再要求他在一旁继续进行测试时,发现他们之后的表现并不是那么令人满意。

我对这项技能所产生的怀疑,最终就在我积极参与笨珍区的复习班时急转弯(这是为了笨珍区团体,那些未能送孩子参加我们在新山南方学院所举办的课程的父母们,所做出的提前示范准备)。我有机会亲自和两、三位年龄介于十三、十四岁的小女孩进行测试。由于她们比较成熟,我可以跟她们很好的沟通,同时向她们吸取宝贵的资讯。我告诉她们用自己的智能或任何感应而非视力。她们完全明白,“偷窥”问题已经不存在了。她们的准确度确实令人惊讶,无论是对颜色、形状或数字都表现出一百巴仙的成绩。那个时候,我完全确信这些孩子的确真的掌握到这项真正的特殊技能了。我问她们如何能这么准确读出?她们告诉我,她们用的是触觉。于是我告诉她们可尝试使用“感觉”,就是只用手握着纸牌,无需触摸,集中注意力并读出来。她们一样都能够一百巴仙做到,我告诉自己,“噢,不用怀疑了,这的确是真的!”

上星期,我回家乡。正好弟弟一家人也回去。他们有个男孩,约八岁。我心里突然想到,能给他进行“实验”。我对他说,“我们来玩个游戏。”刚开始,他拒绝了。过了一会,我再对他说,“伯伯想给你能量哦!”他听了感兴趣地说,“我也有能量。是仁者神龟的能量!”我抓紧机会,要他静静坐下,我再将手放在他的头顶上方约一两分钟。之后,我对他说,“现在你已经有能量了!”同时,我将蒙眼阅读法的手册拿给他看,并向他了解在图画中看到什么。过后,我继续指导他,同时也教他做一些放松的运动。让他休息的当儿,我找了一份挂牌公司的年刊报告,里面印有一张马来西亚和南中国海的地图,于是,我从中剪出了四种不同的颜色。此外,我也拿出了带回来的一些纸牌。接着,我们就在房里开始玩起猜纸牌游戏来。游戏进行时,我没让他的父母在场。我蒙上他的眼睛后,便开始猜颜色。在前两次的游戏中,四张颜色卡当中,他只猜对两张。之后,他慢慢进步。在最后三次的猜颜色游戏中,他终于获得了一百分。于是,我们便进入用纸牌猜数字的游戏。八张发给他的纸牌,他全猜对了。他一直都用触摸法。后来我们重复了两次猜颜色和数字的游戏。我感到非常惊讶,见到他在猜了两张颜色卡后,尽然用起嗅觉的方法来。我的天啊!他尽然可以一百巴仙正确的以嗅觉来辨别颜色。我重复了好几次,他还是获得一百分。你可以想象我当时有多惊讶。我问他,“你怎样嗅出它是蓝色?”他回答说,“因为我嗅到水,所以它一定是蓝色啰!”;“那黒色呢?”,“那是因为我不喜欢黑色,所以我可以猜得到!”。这算是第六感吧!过后,在猜数字时,他依然使用嗅觉法,完全正确。不只是这样,纸牌上的黑色或红色也行。

过后,我邀请他的父母进来见证他们孩子的表现。他们非常的惊讶,当然也对他们的孩子能掌握到这项技能,感到十分高兴。过后,我告诉他们,他们的孩子有自己的潜能,我只不过帮他带出潜能。

我突然回想起,中国曾经报道过有小孩能“听出”字来的事情。因此,我决定用他来尝试。我建议他将纸牌卡片靠近耳朵来听它的颜色与数字。哇,他做到了!我真无法相信!我于是再继续做其他尝试。我告诉他将纸牌放在他的头部后方并读出来。他轻而易举的做到了,不只一次而是好多次都一百巴仙准确。没有欺诈!没有偷窥,所有的纸牌都放在他的耳边或头的后面。

几次过后,他要求暂停。我问他为什么?他回答说,“我的能量累了,他要去睡觉了!”我说好吧!无论如何,我收到的成果超出想象。他也告诉我说,他所做出的都出自他的能量,而不是他自己。我觉得跟孩子交涉,你只需用一点心理学。他相信,他现在已经有能量了!

我告诉师父这件事,也询问他,“我并没有教他什么,为什么他能做出这些成绩?”师父回答我说,我已经帮他把隐藏的潜能带出了。

现在我完全相信这项技能是真实的!但现在我必须面对我的报应。当我告诉人们我的故事时,他们都表现出怀疑的样子,就像我之前一样。我接受这个报应。但我希望,有一天他们会除去怀疑,坚定的支持它,就像我一样。

我告诉师父,我要向他磕三个头,因为:

(一请您原谅我当初怀疑这项技能。

二)谢谢您的指导和提供机会给我参与这个课程,让我能够除去所有的疑心。

(三)愿师父能继续指导和支持我教导及传播这项技能,以惠及更多的孩子。
